Product Weight, Shape & Availability
Our artisan cheeses and other products are subject to seasonal availability and may change in shape, size and weight during the ageing process. This is why all measurements and weights given can only be approximate.
However, if a product is not available i.e. out of stock at the time of the order, we will inform you and TheFoodMarket.com by email of this situation and we will provide you and them with an alternative delivery date or a substitute product for you to agree upon.
Delivery
We aim to complete all orders received Monday-Thursday before 12 noon for a next day delivery unless you have requested a different delivery date. Orders received after 12 noon, or Fri-Sun will be prepared and dispatched the next working day for a delivery the day after.
Because most of our goods are perishable, your order will be packed in a cardboard box filled with ice packs. We send goods by overnight carrier to destinations on the GB mainland only for a delivery by 4pm. We can deliver to your home or place of work, and to the home or workplace of your relatives, friends or colleagues. We must have a complete postcode and telephone number for every delivery address (this is provided to use when you place your order automatically). We only deliver on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
We highly recommend that you provide us with an alternative delivery instruction for any private address; such as "leave in porch/on step/with a neighbour/behind the bins". This can be emailed to support@thefoodmarket.com immediately following placing your order.
Please take great care when stipulating delivery locations, addresses and dates, because once these have been entered and you have received a confirmation email for your order, they cannot be changed.
Please make sure you order is stored in refrigerated storage/fridge as soon as it has been delivered.
Quality Management
Harvey & Brockless takes care to ensure the quality and condition of our cheese and other products and they should reach you in the best possible condition.
Upon delivery, risk of damage or deterioration to the goods passes to you, as the buyer, therefore when you receive your order, please open it right away and inspect its contents. If you aren’t completely satisfied with what you find, do please contact TheFoodMarket.com right away during office hours via email at support@thefoodmarket.com, phone or live chat on the website and we will do our very best to put it right.
Please note that no claim for damage or deterioration after delivery can be accepted unless we’re informed within 24 hours of delivery. Nor can we accept any responsibility for quality deterioration due to the following delivery problems:
1. Incorrect addresses
2. Unopened parcels
3. Delayed deliveries due to weather problems
4. Gifts to recipients who are away or not available to receive parcels
Returns
As we are selling food products, these are non-returnable and non-refundable as we cannot re-sell the items once they have left our premises. In the event that there is a problem with the product, we do not ask you to return anything perishable. However, we will ask you to email us with pictures showing clearly the state of the product delivered to you to support@thefoodmarket.com allowing us to assess the situation.
Concerning non-perishable products, we will ask you return the goods to us in order to investigate the problem further and try to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
Pricing
Products are invoiced in GBP sterling at the price given at the time you place your order and are not inclusive of delivery fees unless otherwise stated.
Although we do our best to ensure that all prices on TheFoodMarket.com website are accurate, errors may happen. If we realise that an error in the price of the item you have ordered has occurred, we will contact you as soon as possible. Then, you will have the option of accepting your order at the correct price or cancelling it. In the case that we are not able to contact you before dispatching your order, we will consider the incorrectly priced item as cancelled.
Cancellation
Should you wish to cancel your order, please contact support@thefoodmaket.com during office hours. Provided your cancellation request is received and acknowledge before your items have been dispatched from our warehouse, we will cancel your order and TheFoodMarket.com will refund you full without charge. Failure to do so may result in a refund being partially or wholly refused.
