Honey in its purest form. Raw, natural and unprocessed Scottish Heather Honeycomb.
Proud winner of the rare 3 star Great Taste Awards 2021. Here's what the Great Taste Award judges said about our Heather Honeycomb Section...
'Gorgeous look in the little wooden box the honeycomb is packed in, huge and bulging with honey, which gleams and shines. The heather is strong and wonderful, and that's just the smell, which wafts across as if you were lying in a bed of it. The honey slips onto your palate like mercury, coating it with a sweet. silky. deep flavour that just keeps giving wave after wave of magnificence. Fabulous!'
'A simply outstanding honeycomb, with crunchy, crystalline as well as softly chewy nodules of comb, encasing the richest, most flavoursome heather honey imaginable. There is a liquorous depth of flavour to the gloriously sticky honey - it's deeply sweet and rich, but the comb serves to balance this out. The length and nuance of flavour are remarkable. A great experience.'
So what about the Heather Honeycomb itself? A honey classified as a 'superfood' with 10 times more manganese than any other honey!
Honey in its purest form. Raw, natural, and unprocessed Scottish Heather Honeycomb. The honeycomb is made in individual “sections”, the bees make the wax and fill it full of heather honey. The weight is therefore an average of 400g.
Simply cut the comb from the section and enjoy. Even the wax is consumable. We think you will find this your best ever honey experience!
Heather blossoms for a very short time of the year, because of this there is a limited number of sections available until next years harvest.
