Las Terrazas is situated in a valley in the region of Huehuetenango. The valley shields the farm from extreme weather conditions and creates its own stable microclimate. Large parts of the farm are wild, protected forests, which helps prevent soil erosion and limits exposure of the coffee plants to the wind. A sustainable permaculture model that recreates coffee's natural habitat in high altitude forests.
