WiSE TREE is a small family owned business dedicated to sourcing and importing the very finest extra virgin olive oils, all traditionally farmed and naturally made on the beautiful Ionian Island of Corfu.

Our Story

All our oils are a blend of Corfu’s native Lianolia olive tree, originally cultivated for the production of the highest quality oils for the Venetian markets, mixed 20:80 with the Koroneki; another Ancient Greek olive tree variety grown for centuries on both Corfu and to the east across the Peloponnese. The quality, unique taste and aroma of this blend is completely different from the other varieties of olive oils, combining a rich perfume of the Corfiot landscape with the smoothest of tastes.

WiSE TREE is a small family owned business dedicated to sourcing and importing the very finest olive oil products from the beautiful Ionian Island of Corfu.

The lush green landscape is rich with magical, sun-dappled olive groves, rolling from hillside to valley and down to the azure Ionian sea. This is the spiritual home of olive oil, in fact olive farming on the island dates back to the Bronze Age.

Indeed when Corfu and the other Ionian islands were possessions of the Republic of Venice, the Venetians realising the ‘goldilocks’ qualities of Corfu’s high rain, high sunshine, rich soil combination ordered and financed the mass planting of olive trees. Today these number more than four million with some of these ancient giants with their gnarled trunks still producing oil at nearly 500 years old.

As the owners of WiSE TREE and genuine lovers of all things Corfu - my wife and I have our own small olive grove in Omali - we are genuinely honoured that two of the longest established growers in Corfu have agreed to share their exceptional products with us: The Stamatelou family - who have very kindly consented to make their own very special Extra Virgin Oil available under our own WiSE TREE brand - and the equally generous Mavroudis family - who have provided us with an exclusive import license for their range of award winning flavour infused gourmet oils.
